On the invitation of President Mamnoon Hussain, President of Mauritius, Dr. (Mrs.) Bibi Ameenah Firdaus Gurib-Fakim, along with a 9 member delegation will be visiting Pakistan from 17-20 April 2016.
During the visit, a meeting will be held between President Mamnoon Hussain and the visiting President, where matters of mutual interests as well as regional and international importance will come under discussion. The President of Pakistan will host a lunch in honour of Dr. (Mrs.) Bibi Ameenah Firdaus Gurib-Fakim and her delegation. Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, Professor Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of State for National Health Services, Coordination and Regulation Ms. Saira Afzal Tarrar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Syed Tariq Fatemi will call on the visiting President. The President will also visit Karachi where she will receive the Governor of Sindh, Chairman TDAP and representatives of the FPCCI for separate meetings. She will also pay a visit to Mazar-e-Quaid and undertake a tour of the Karachi University.
Pakistan and Mauritius enjoy close and cordial relations which are based on mutual identity of views on regional and global issues. During the visit, the two sides will explore the possibilities of further strengthening existing bilateral ties in various fields of common interest with particular focus on economic and trade relations. The visit will also provide an opportunity for resuming leadership level contacts between the two countries.
