Design and Creativity Week

The 2017 Chengdu Design and Creativity Week is being held in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in Southwestern China. Pakistan is participating in the event.

The Deputy Consul General Mr. Naveed Safdar Bokhari participated in the Design Talk Forum held during the event. In his remarks, Mr. Bokhari underscored the importance of the event as it provided an opportunity to showcase Pakistani creativity and design industries in Western and Southwestern China. He said that the creativity and design industries in Pakistan presented a vibrant mosaic of contemporary and modernistic styles/themes built on the strong foundation of local customs and traditions inherited over the millennia. He underscored the need for expanding Pakistan-China bilateral collaboration in this untapped area.

The Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture is participating in the event and have setup a Pakistan pavilion, which is attracting a lot of interest from the general public including art and fashion lovers and entrepreneurs interested in doing business with Pakistan in this sector.
