Pakistan has been elected unopposed to the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth Board of Governors for the term 2016-2018. The election was held during the annual meeting of the Board of Governors on 14 June 2016.

The Executive Committee, comprising a select group of member countries, is an important body of the Commonwealth Secretariat. It is mandated to oversee all matters related to finance, personnel and administration of the Commonwealth Secretariat. It also makes policy recommendations and review and finalise plans and budget for presentation to the Board of Governors.

?Pakistan is one of the founding members of the Commonwealth and is committed to furthering its core values. Pakistan is also a member of the Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group and the Executive Committee of Commonwealth Foundation.
