Embassy of Pakistan, Ha Noi, Viet Nam celebrates Pakistan Day-2019
Embassy of Pakistan, Hanoi celebrated 80th National Day of Pakistan with traditional zeal, fervor and dedication. The celebrations started with a simple but dignified flag-hoisting ceremony at the Embassy premises. The ceremony was attended by Pakistani nationals living at Ha Noi, Viet Nam. Ambassador of Pakistan to Viet Nam and Lao People's Democratic Republic, H.E. Mr. Zaigham Uddin Azam raised the flag of Pakistan, while the national anthem of Pakistan was played. The National Day Messages by the President and the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan were read out to the Pakistani community members attending the ceremony. The guests were treated with traditional Pakistani snacks and tea after the ceremony.
"It's a day to pay tribute to leaders of Pakistan Movement and millions of people who rendered immense sacrifices in their struggle to carve out a separate homeland," Ambassador Zaigham Uddin Azam remarked during his address to a large gathering at a reception arranged at a local hotel to celebrate the National Day of Pakistan. Ambassador further said that the Government of Pakistan was working day and night under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan to make Pakistan a true Islamic Welfare State.
Ambassador, delivering his speech in Urdu language, which was simultaneously translated in English as well as Vietnamese language, highlighted the significance of bilateral relations with Viet Nam and expressed the hope that continuous exchange of high-level official delegations between the two countries will continue to provide impetus to the development of relations in all spheres, especially in the field of trade and investment between Pakistan and Viet Nam.
The Chief Guest, H.E Mr. Pham Sao Mai, Assistant Foreign Minister of Viet Nam, congratulated Pakistan's leaders and people on their significant achievements in the seventy one years of Pakistan's existence and the economic development that Pakistan has achieved. He also said that Viet Nam would like to further promote the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
More than 200 guests comprising the Diplomatic Corps, Members of Parliament, Government Officials, Defence Representatives, media and think tanks and Pakistani diaspora attended the Pakistan Day Reception, which was arranged in a very elegant manner. Traditional Pakistani food was served to the guests.
Ambassador of Pakistan also addressed the Vietnamese nation through the state television of Viet Nam to commemorate the National Day of Pakistan in a speech, which was telecast on the morning of 23 March 2019 across Viet Nam. In his speech in Urdu language, with Vietnamese translation, the Ambassador highlighted the struggle of the founders of Pakistan as well as achievements of Pakistan in the last seven decades of its existence. He also mentioned the growing Pakistan-Viet Nam relations in multiple areas including bilateral trade.
