Executive Director of the Economic Cooperation Organization Cultural Institute (ECI) calls on Foreign Secretary

The Executive Director of the Economic Cooperation Organization Cultural Institute (ECI), Ambassador Mohammad Reza Haji Krim Jabbari called on Foreign Secretary Mr. Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, at the Foreign Office today. Ambassador Jabbari is visiting Pakistan to attend an event celebrating the 138th birth anniversary of Allama Mohammad Iqbal. The event was organized by ECI in collaboration with ‘Aiwan-e-Iqbal’ at Lahore on 9 November 2014, and was attended by several poets from Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan.

The Foreign Secretary welcomed Ambassador Jabbari and conveyed his best wishes for the dynamic and important role being played by ECI for the promotion of cultural diplomacy in the ECO region. Reiterating Pakistan’s support for these endeavours, the Foreign Secretary expressed the hope that ECI would further enhance its effectiveness, reinforced by the full support of the ECO members.
