Flag Hoisting Ceremony

A well attended flag hoisting ceremony was held in the Chancery this morning. Today being a holiday in Kuwait a very large number of Pakistani community attended the event.

After flag hoisting, the Ambassador Ghulam Dastgir read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan. In his welcome address, the Ambassador touched on the significance of Pakistan Day. He explained that Pakistan had made remarkable strides in many fields and today, Pakistan is a vibrant democracy with an independent judiciary, a free media and a participatory civil society.

The Ambassador also highlighted the efforts being made by the government to realize the dream of the founding fathers of a progressive Islamic welfare state. He also touched on the close and fraternal ties between Pakistan and Kuwait. He commended the role of the Pakistani Diaspora in Kuwait in further strengthening the existing close ties between the two countries and appreciated their cooperation with the Embassy to project the soft image of Pakistan abroad.

A pictorial exhibition depicting pictures of stalwarts of Pakistan Movement was also organized in collaboration with Pakistan Awami Society, Kuwait.

A special supplement was published in the English daily “The Arab Times” highlighting tourism and investment potential in Pakistan.
