“All of us are fortunate to witness history in the making as Pakistan moves towards its rightful place in the comity of nations under the honest and dedicated leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan”, said High Commissioner Raza Bashir Tarar while addressing the flag hoisting ceremony to mark the Pakistan Day.
The Ceremony began with a moment of silence for the martyrs of New Zealand, whose sacrifice, as remarked by the High Commissioner, had shown the entire world that Islam is the religion of peace and that terrorism and violent extremism have no religion.
The High Commissioner read out the messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan.
He lauded the valuable support of Pakistani Canadians to Pakistan as evidenced by their generous contributions to the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund.
The High Commissioner assured the attendees that the High Commission and its sub-missions stood ready to work with them for the achievement of common goals.
