A simple but dignified flag hoisting ceremony was held at High Commission for Pakistan in Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania) on 23 March 2014 to mark the 74th Anniversary of the Pakistan Day. The ceremony was attended by a large number of Pakistanis, friends of Pakistan, ladies and children.
2. Charge d’ Affaires, Muhammad Iqbal, hoisted the national flag. Messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, received for the occasion, were read out for the benefit of honoured guests.
3. In his remarks, the Charge d’ Affaires congratulated the Pakistani community on an epoch-making day and recapitulated the salient points of the independence movement under dynamic leadership of the Founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and immense sacrifices rendered by the valiant people after the creation of Pakistan. A group of children sung patriotic songs being widely cheered by the audience.
4. The Charge d’ Affaires praised the role of the Pakistani community in building a positive image of Pakistan in Tanzania. The ceremony came to end with prayers for the progress, prosperity and radiant future of Pakistan.
