Flag Hosting Ceremony at Pakistan House, Abidjan

A simple, dignified ceremony was held at Pakistan House, Abidjan to commemorate 76^th Independence Day of Pakistan. A large number of members of Pakistani community and the Embassy Officials participated. The programme began with recitation from Holy Quran. After flag hoisting, messages of the President, Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister for the occasion were read out.

In his address, Ambassador Manzoor Chaudhry welcomed members of Pakistani community and congratulated them. He eulogized the efforts of founding fathers for their untiring efforts for creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the sub-Continent. He stated that it’s for us to take the nation forward. He said that the nation salutes its defenders who guard us against internal and external threats. The Ambassador stated that Pakistan would continue to extend political, moral and diplomatic support to our Kashmiri brothers and sisters towards a just and peaceful settlement of Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council Resolutions.

Prayers were offered for the people of Pakistan and IIOJK. Independence cake was cut and refreshments were served to the members of the community.
