Foreign Minister did not meet President Musharraf

A news story in “The Nation” today reporting that Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a “one-on-one meeting” with former President General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf at Abu Dhabi is absolutely baseless. No “coincidental” or “scheduled” meeting, as claimed by the story, took place between the two. The Foreign Minister visited Abu Dhabi only to attend a meeting of Special Representatives for Afghanistan and Pakistan to put across Pakistan’s position on several important issues pertaining to regional security and stability.
