The Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, His Royal Highness Prince Saud-Al-Faisal called on the Prime Minister today on 26 September 2013 in New York on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan attaches great importance to its special relations with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He added that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy close fraternal relations that are marked by common perceptions on all issues of mutual interest. The Prime Minister stated that Pakistan would like to further broaden and deepen the existing bilateral political, economic, defense and cultural ties. He said that the large Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia is a human bridge between the two brotherly countries. The Saudi Foreign Minister stated that his country regarded Pakistan as a highly important country of the Islamic world. He said that he looked forward to a rejuvenated Pakistan under the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister. The two leaders also discussed regional and international developments. Stressing the importance of unity amongst Muslim countries, the Prime Minister underscored the need for evolving an effective mechanism to resolve differences and conflicts in the Muslim world.
