Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Makhdoom Qureshi received Amir Khan Mutaqqi, Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister highlighted Pakistan’s contribution towards a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, particularly in the provision of humanitarian assistance. The Foreign Minister shared that Pakistan had been continuously drawing international community’s attention towards economic challenges inside Afghanistan and urging for immediate provision of humanitarian assistance. The forthcoming Extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers was being held to explore avenues to address the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Afghanistan.
The Foreign Minister reiterated that Pakistan would continue to assist Afghanistan bilaterally and provide humanitarian assistance. Pakistan would also continue to facilitate international humanitarian assistance through air and land corridor.
The Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan thanked Foreign Minister Qureshi for supporting Afghanistan and especially for convening the Extraordinary session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.
