Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir will visit Afghanistan on 16 – 17 January 2011

On the invitation of Government of Afghanistan, Foreign Secretary Salman Bashir will visit Kabul on 16-17 January 2011.
The Foreign Secretary’s visit is in continuation of the process of close engagement between Pakistan and Afghanistan on matters of shared interest and concern.
Pakistan and Afghanistan enjoy close, fraternal relations which have received a new impetus by the visit of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani to Kabul last month.
The leadership of two countries has decided to intensify policy consultations and take further steps to strengthen bilateral relations in a comprehensive manner.
