The fourth round of bilateral consultations with Poland was held on May 29, 2012. The Polish delegation was led by Undersecretary of State Mr. Boguslaw Walenty Winid. The Additional Secretary (Europe) Mrs. Ayesha Riyaz led the Pakistani side.

The two sides discussed the broad range of Pakistan-Poland relations, including bilateral trade and investment and cooperation in the energy sector. Views were also exchanged on regional as well as international issues of mutual interest.

Both sides expressed satisfaction at the current status of bilateral relations and underlined the importance of exploring ways and means to further enhance bilateral trade and investment. The Additional Secretary thanked the Polish Government for supporting Pakistan’s case for Autonomous Trade Preferences in the EU and hoped that Poland would continue to support Pakistan’s request for GSP+.

The visiting delegation also called on Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani. The Foreign Secretary thanked Poland for its support in the EU, and underscored the need to further broaden and strengthen the existing bilateral relations to the mutual benefit of the two countries.
