As instructed by the Honorable Prime Minister of Pakistan, all officers and officials (Pak-based and local) congregated in the Mission at the designated time of between 12 noon and 1230 hours (which exactly coincided with PST). Besides prominently displaying placards, banners and flags of both Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, national anthems of both Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir were also played. In his address, Ambassador Dr. Irfan Yusuf Shami highlighted the serious security and human rights situation in Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IoJ&K) after the illegal action by the Indian government on 05 August 2019. The Ambassador urged all Embassy staff to continue to widely disseminate information about this critical situation to all their friends and acquaintances in Uzbekistan. The Ambassador also urged everyone to pray for the safety and well-being of the Kashmiri people, who had continued to immensely suffer since the last over 72 years. Photos and video clip of the event are attached.
