Handing over ceremony of Cricketing Gear to Maldives

In a simple but impressive ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad the Foreign Secretary, Mr. Jalil Abbas Jilani presented the gift of cricketing gear for Maldivian Cricket Board (MCB) in an expression of support to Cricket in Maldives. Gifted items were contributed by Pakistan Cricket Board.

Foreign Secretary fondly recalled the friendly and cooperative ties between the two countries and praised the bilateral relations. He conveyed our continued support to capacity building of Maldivian citizens in fields of Academics, Training and Sports.

Foreign Secretary said that he was looking forward to his visit to Male` for the next round of Political Consultations, dates for which are being finalized through diplomatic channels.

Her Excellency Dr. Aisath Shehenaz Adam, High Commissioner for Maldives in Islamabad warmly reciprocated the wishes expressed by Foreign Secretary and hoped that her country would also benefit practically from the rich Pakistani experience in field of Cricket.

The ceremony was marked by sentiments of traditional warmth and mutual respect that define the basis of our relations.
