The Embassy of Pakistan in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, celebrated the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan, today. Members from the Pakistani community, locals, academician and scholars attended the event.
The ceremony started with the recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by flag hoisting with the national anthem by Ambassador Muhammad Saeed Sarwar. Messages from the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read.
The Ambassador in his address warmly welcomed and congratulated the Pakistani community members on the 76th Independence Day. He paid rich tributes to the Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and leaders of Pakistan Movement for their paramount effort for creating a separate homeland for Muslims of the subcontinent. He recalled the vision of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal for making Pakistan a great nation by working together for the betterment of Pakistan. He said that we should value the sacrifices of our forefathers for the creation of Pakistan and work for the prosperity of our people.
He mentioned that this day gives us an opportunity for introspection and to reflect on the nation’s progress so far, existing challenges, and opportunities for growth. It was time to renew our pledge to building a stronger and more prosperous Pakistan as envisioned by the Father of the Nation.
The event was also graced by singing of national songs and special speeches by Children and students from Pakistani community members. At the conclusion of the ceremony, all Pakistani community members along with the Embassy officials sung a mili naghama (national song).
On this joyous occasion, the Chancery building was decorated with Pakistani flags, special banners and pamphlets highlighting the patriotic fervor of Pakistanis.
