Kashmir Black Day

An event was organized in the Embassy of Pakistan, Dushanbe, Tajikistan today to observe Kashmir Black Day. Members of Pakistani diaspora, academician, students, local journalists and members of Pakistan-Tajik Friendship Society participated.

The event started with the recitation of Holy Quran, followed by national anthems of Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Messages of the President, Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan were read out.

Ambassador Imran Haider on the occasion highlighted the atrocities being committed by the Indian Security Forces in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, particularly the inhuman and unprecedented lockdown imposed in the region since 5 August, 2019. He added that the fascist regime of BJP, under Hindutva ideology, has started persecuting Kashmiri Muslims and other minorities with brute force, depriving them of their basic rights.

The speakers highlighted that India has usurped freedom of Kashmiri people and BJB Government under influence of Hindutva ideology of RSS had been trying to stifle and subdue Kashmiris in IIOJK. It was stressed that the world community must take serious notice of the human rights violations perpetrated by the Indian occupying forces and that UNSC resolutions should be implemented in letter and spirit.

On the occasion, Ms Nazokat Alimova, renowned Tajik literary figure recited her poems especially written in the context of ongoing Indian brutalities in IIOJK.

To raise awareness about the plight of the Kashmiris in the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, a special documentary highlighting brutalities committed by the Indian Occupying Forces was screened, followed by a special song prepared by the Youth Parliament of Pakistan, released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan. A pictorial exhibition depicting grave human rights violations in IIOJK was also organized in the Chancery building.
