Kashmir Black Day observed at the Pakistan Embassy Prague

The Embassy of Pakistan in Prague organized an event to observe the Kashmir Black Day. On 27 October 1947, India forcibly occupied Jammu & Kashmir against the will of the Kashmiri people and the event helped to highlight Indian brutalities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) since 1947. The event was attended by Pakistanis residing in Czech Republic, including students and people of Kashmiri origin.

The event began with the recitation of Holy Quran. Messages from the President and Prime Minister were read out, followed by a documentary, depicting Indian atrocities.

In his remarks, the Ambassador termed Kashmir Black Day a bleak milestone in the history of Kashmir when 75 years ago, India in violation of all norms of international laws and conventions, had landed its troops in Sringar on the basis of a fraudulent instrument of accession. The Ambassador underlined Pakistan’s principled policy on the Kashmir dispute and said that the Government of Pakistan would continue to extend moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people in IIOJ&K till the realization of their legitimate right to self determination.

Utilizing the opportunity Pakistani community was apprised about the Mission’s outreach to the Czech leadership, senior government officials, think tanks, academia, ambassadors and diplomatic community in Prague, to sensitize them about gross violation of human rights in the IIOJ&K, stalemate in India-Pakistan relations and intransigent attitude of India to stall all efforts for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.
