The Kashmir Solidarity Day 2023 was observed in the High Commission today morning. The event started with the recitation of Holy Quran. National anthems of Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir were played. A documentary highlighting the ongoing brutalities at the hands of Indian illegal occupation forces unleashed in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK)was also shown to the participants.
Mr. Ghazi Naeemullah Dar, Pakistani Diaspora member of Kashmir Origin; Mr. Philemon Mweleka from Model United Nations Tanzania; and Mr. Amman Afridi, Pakistani Diaspora memberalso expressed their views and called for early resolution of the Kashmir dispute to fulfil the aspirations of the People of the IIOJK.
Charge d’ Affaires (a.i.) Muhammad Azam Bihanread out the Special Messages of the President, the Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Pakistan on the occasion. He also gave background briefing on the disputed status of IIOJK between Pakistan and India as recognized by the United Nations and the prevailing precarious human rights situation in IIOJK to the Tanzanian Civil Society, Media, Human Rights activists and Tanzanian Youth representatives who were present in the event. Information material on Jammu and Kashmir dispute was shared with the participants. The event ended with the special prayers for the Kashmiri brothers and sisters’ freedom from 76year long Indian illegal occupation.
