In complete solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Friday 06 April 2018 was observed as Kashmir Solidarity Day in a solemn and graceful ceremony organized by the Embassy of Pakistan in Brasilia. Local Brazilians and Pakistanis along with the Embassy officials expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
The brotherly people of Jammu and Kashmir have once again been subjected to extreme brutality and human rights violations by the Indian occupation forces. During the last week, Indian occupation forces have martyred more than twenty people including young boys like Zubair Ahmad Bhat and Rayees Ahmed Thoker in Shopian and Kangan areas of India occupied Jammu and Kashmir. In addition, the occupied forces injured over 300 defenseless Kashmiris by bullets and pellets guns while another 41 persons lost partial or complete blindness.
Messages from Pakistan’s leadership were read out.
Ambassador Najm us Saqib paid rich tribute to the brave and resilient people of Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir and urged the international community to take cognizance of India’s systematic human rights violations. Reiterating Pakistan’s principled stand on Kashmir, he stated that the United Nations had promised through multiple resolutions that the final disposition of the State of Jammu & Kashmir would be made in accordance with the will of the people expressed through democratic means of a free and impartial plebiscite.
Other speakers also unequivocally condemned the brutal and indiscriminate use of force by the Indian occupation forces. They stated that the latest killing spree has once again exposed the inhuman face of the state-terrorism that India has been perpetrating against the Kashmiris for decades.
Defence Attache Brig. Muhammad Yousaf reiterated the positive role of Pakistan Army in safeguarding the country’s national interests and fulfilling the tasks with utmost professionalism.
The representatives of Pakistan-Brazil Association, on behalf of all Pakistanis based in Brazil, presented a Resolution condemning the Indian atrocities in Jammu & Kashmir while expressing complete solidarity with the Kashmiri brethren. The Association also expressed the hope that the Brazil-based Pakistanis would be actively engaged on this vital subject.
Special prayers for the people of Jammu & Kashmir were also offered after Namaz-e-Jum’a organised in the premises of the Embassy of Pakistan.
