The High Commissioner of Pakistan in South Africa Mr. Najm us Saqib presented his credentials to King Mswati III of Swaziland, in Mbabane, on 7 May, 2015. Besides accreditation to South Africa, the High Commissioner is concurrently accredited to Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia and Swaziland.

The High Commissioner conveyed warm greetings and good wishes from President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to King Mswati III, which were warmly reciprocated. The King and the High Commissioner discussed bilateral economic and trade relations and decided to explore additional avenues of cooperation for the welfare of peoples of both the friendly countries.

The High Commissioner’s visit to Mbabane also entailed his detailed meetings with the Swazi Foreign Minister, Mgwagua Gamedze, Commerce Minister Gideon Dlamini, Health Minister Sibonile Ndlela and the CEO, Chamber of Commerce Bonisiwe Ntando.

During these meetings, the High Commissioner touched upon Pakistan’s vital role in achieving durable peace in the region; Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s vision of “peace for development” and our core national objective of advancing economic development. Future prospects of economic and trade relations were also discussed with a view to strengthening Pak-Swaziland relations in different fields.

During his interaction with Swazi authorities, the High Commissioner also highlighted the constructive role being played by the small Pakistani Community based in Swaziland, for the economic and social wellbeing of Swaziland. In addition, he interacted extensively with the Community and took effective measures to address their individual problems.
