A Kuwaiti delegation led by Ambassador H.E. Mohammad Ahmed Al-Mirjin Al-Roumi, Director Asia Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kuwait visited Pakistan on 7-8 October 2013 for the First Round of Bilateral Political Consultations between Pakistan and Kuwait.

During the visit, the Kuwaiti delegation paid a courtesy call on the Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sartaj Aziz. A review of bilateral relations took place during the call. The Adviser recalled that Pakistan was amongst the first countries that contributed in de-mining Kuwait during which precious Pakistani lives were also lost. Ambassador Roumi acknowledged the contributions made by Pakistan in the rehabilitation, reconstruction and development of Kuwait.

Ambassador Roumi briefed the Adviser on the current Middle Eastern situation. The Adviser emphasized on the further strengthening bilateral economic relations, which were not commensurate with the political goodwill that existed between the two countries.
