Commenting on the situation of Pakistani expatriates in Libya, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that on the express instructions of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani, the Foreign Ministry continues to monitor the situation in Libya with a special focus on the safety of Pakistani expatriates in that country.
The Foreign Ministry is making arrangements for the evacuation of Pakistani expatriates who wish to leave Libya.
The Foreign Ministry is in contact with friendly countries such as Turkey, China, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt and others for the evacuation of Pakistani expatriates.
All routes are being worked.
A group of Pakistanis has already reached Turkey by Sea and preparations are being made for their airlift.
Similarly a group of Pakistanis has reached the Algerian border with Libya. Our Embassy in Algiers is working out the details of their evacuation.
The Foreign Ministry is working around the clock with its Missions in the region to assure the safety of Pakistanis in Libya.
