Meeting between Foreign Minister Khar and German Defence Minister Dr. Thomas de Maiziere

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, met the German Defence Minister, Dr. Thomas de Maiziere at the Foreign Office today.

The two sides exchanged views on a wide spectrum of important regional and international issues especially the prevailing situation in Afghanistan. Foreign Minister Khar briefed the German Minister about Pakistan’s effort to facilitate peace and reconciliation process in Afghanistan. The German Defence Minister appreciated Pakistan’s efforts at combating terrorism and lauded its role towards establishing durable peace in Afghanistan.

Earlier, the German Defence Minister met Defence Minister Naveed Qamar, Chairman JCSC and the Chief of Army Staff at Rawalpindi.
