Meeting between the Foreign Secretary and the Secretary General Foreign Affairs of Austria

During his visit to Vienna, Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhry met with his Austrian counterpart, Secretary General Dr. Michael Linhart at the Federal Ministry of Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs on 06 December 2016.

Secretary General Linhart welcomed Pakistan’s delegation and conveyed the desire of the Austrian Government to further intensify its bilateral relations with Pakistan. Highlighting the importance of high-level contacts, he recalled the meeting between the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz and Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz on the sidelines of the UNGA session in September 2016. Secretary General Linhart appreciated the existing cooperation in the sectors of trade, energy, hydropower, health, applied sciences and technology as well as migration.

The Foreign Secretary briefed the Secretary General on bilateral political and economic relations as well as regional and international issues of mutual concern. The Foreign Secretary renewed his invitation to the Secretary General to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.
