Meeting with Executive Mayor of the City of Cape Town

Deputy High Commissioner, Mr. Adnan Javaid called on Executive Mayor of the Cape Town, Mr. Alderman Dan Plato at his office in Cape Town on 26 September, 2019. Meeting was held on the invitation extended by the Executive Mayor with the objective to establish close liaison and coordination with Pakistani community in Cape Town. Several notables from Pakistani community were also present on the occasion.

Executive Mayor appreciated the role of Pakistani Diaspora in economic development of the city. He underscored that Pakistani community is also playing a positive role. He assured his full cooperation for the well being of the community.

Deputy High Commissioner, on the behalf of Pakistani community appreciated the gesture of the Executive Mayor to discuss the community issues. He also solicited the Executive Mayor’s cooperation against xenophobic attacks, if any, and assured him of the community support and cooperation including providing jobs to the local people.

Both sides agreed to continue such engagement in future as well.
