Message of sympathy to Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

Following is the message of sympathy from the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Foreign Minister of Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka:

Excellency,

It was a matter of great distress and sorrow to learn that some members of the visiting Sri Lankan cricket team got injured in a terrorist act this morning. Pakistan strongly condemns this cowardly act and considers it as an attempt to undermine Pakistan-Sri Lanka friendship.

At this hour of grief and distress, the Government and the people of Pakistan fully share the anguish of the people of Sri Lanka. Pakistan is taking all necessary steps to investigate the incident and to bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to book.

I would like to sympathize with the families of the injured Sri Lankan players and the people of Sri Lanka and pray for their speedy recovery.
