AHMED Ali Sirohey, Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam, held a meeting with Haji Azhar bin Haji Ahmad, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Communications in his office.
Both parties discussed issues pertaining to the enhancement of knowledge and skills through meaningful work experience and interaction with professional people in an actual working environment for internees.
The permanent secretary showed interest in Pakistani Information and Communications Technology (ICT) companies working with Brunei and developing the sector to be competitive in the Asean region and beyond.
The youth can be co-opted after training to make it an ICT regional hub.
The deputy high commissioner explained Pakistan’s IT industry and NADRA activities.
He noted that Pakistan has an elaborate ICT sector which exports its services and software to many countries across the globe.
The deputy high commissioner upon inquiry about shipping services informed that the Ministry of Ports and Shipping is primarily assigned to facilitate the ports and shipping industry of the country by providing policy guidelines.
They discussed cooperation in the field of postal services. The ways to benefit from the best practices of each other were also deliberated.
The training for the telecom sector was also discussed. Both reiterated their governments resolve to engage in positive bilateral cooperation and further deepen diplomatic and economic relations.
