The National Security Advisor of the United Kingdom, Sir Peter Ricketts met the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar at the Foreign Ministry today. The British Chief of Defence Staff, Sir David Richards, British High Commissioner Mr. Adam Thompson and Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Mr. Salman Bashir attended the meeting.

Pakistan and the United Kingdom have agreed to launch National Security Dialogue in the context of the enhanced Pakistan-UK partnership. The talks today covered all issues of mutual concern, including counter-terrorism, Afghanistan and issues related to South Asia.

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs underscored the importance that we attach to consultations and cooperation with the United Kingdom on global and regional issues as well as to giving further momentum to the excellent cooperation that exists between the two countries at the bilateral plane.
