Pakistan Navy Ship Alamgir visited Algiers Port from 22-24
th November 2021. The Ship was received by the Mission and Algerian Naval authorities. A reception was hosted onboard which was attended by Algerian notables, Defence and civilian officials, diplomats, Defence Attaches, journalists and members of Pakistani community. The Algerian Naval Chief also graced the reception. Commodore Azhar Mahmood, Commander of the ship while speaking on this occasion briefed the audience regarding the PNS Alamgir as well as increasing cooperation between the two friendly Navies.
Earlier, the Ship Commander called on Commander Regional Maritime and Port authorities and discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Navies of two brotherly countries.
The Ambassador also hosted a lunch for the officers of the visiting Ship and Algerian navy officials on 23
rd November 2021, at the Embassy’s Residence.
Pakistan Navy Ship undertook PASSEX exercise with Algerian Navy, which featured different maneuvers.
Pakistan Navy attaches great value to its cooperation with Algerian Navy in various areas. This visit would further strengthen the cooperation with the Algerian Navy. This is the 2
nd visit of a Pakistan Naval ship to Algiers’ port in a year. Earlier, PNS Zulfiqar visited Algeria in August 2021.
