The Government of Pakistan, wisely led by the Prime Minister, HE Imran Khan, has announced the contours of a new visa regime that promotes ease of travel and encourages and welcomes visitors from all over the world to experience the globally renowned Pakistani hospitality and cuisine, great shopping and tourism opportunities.
Pakistan is, therefore, planning to extend electronic visa facility or e-Visa to visitors from 175 countries. For now, a ‘pilot project’ for only 5 countries including UK, UAE, China Turkey and Malaysia is being tested.
Pakistan also plans to launch ‘Visa on Arrival’ for 50 countries including Oman.
The definitive dates for the execution of e-Visa and Visa of Arrival shall be announced as soon as the systems have been tested and necessary arrangements are put into place.
Now therefore, until such time that the Embassy announces the launch of ‘e-Visa’ or ‘Visa on Arrival’ though its WhatsApp Broadcast, Website and Press Release, all travelers and airlines are advised to secure visit visas before departing for Pakistan.
