The Mission organized an event regarding “Kashmir Black Day” at the Embassy’s premises, which was attended by the Algerian students, artists, Journalists, Pakistani diaspora and local notables. The event commenced with the recitation of Holy Quran. The messages of the Honorable President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out by Ambassador Ata-ul-Munim Shahid. The Ambassador also addressed the gathering and highlighted the significance of this day, underscored the endeavors of our government for taking positive and bold steps towards Kashmir issue. On this occasion, Ambassador apprised the gathering about 5th August unilateral illegal actions of Indian Government including abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35A and the current grave situation in the State.

Ambassador also highlighted the plight of Kashmiri people in the IIOJK and urged upon international community to play its role in immediate cessation of human rights violations.

The Algerian artists, students and journalists also spoke at the occasion and strongly supported Kashmiri people in their freedom struggle.

After the speech, documentaries on Kashmir were displayed projecting plight of the Kashmiris of IOK and human rights violations by Indian forces.

A buffet lunch was held at the Chancery, for Algerian students, artists, Journalists, local notables and Pakistani diaspora.
