Opening Ceremony of Mand-Pishin Border Crossing Point – 21 April, 2021

The opening ceremony of third international border crossing point between Pakistan and Iran at Mand-Pishin was held today in the presence of the honorable Minister for Defence Production of Pakistan Mrs. Zubaida Jalal and Minister for Roads and Urban Development of Iran Mr. Mohammad Eslami. Dignitaries from both sides were also present during the opening ceremony.

The opening of a new border point has come at a time when the Foreign Minister of Pakistan shah Mahmood Qureshi is on a three-day visit to Iran.

In her remarks at the opening ceremony, Minister Zubaida Jalal termed the border opening as an important milestone in the Pak-Iran bilateral relations as after Mirjaveh-Taftan and Gabd-Reemdan crossings, it was the third international border crossing point between the two countries. Besides enhancing trade, travel and people to people contacts between Pakistan and Iran, this new crossing point would facilitate the movement of Zaireen from Pakistan by providing them an alternate route.

Before the opening of Mand-Pishin and Gabd-Reemdan, the Mirjaveh-Taftan remained the only international border crossing point between Pakistan and Iran for decades. The Mand-Pishin border opening comes within five months of the opening of the Gabd-Reemadan border crossing that was opened on 19 December, 2020. The two countries also maintain other crossing points at different locations for trade and cross-border movement for local persons living on both sides of the border on Rahadari system only.

مراسم افتتاحیه گذرگاه مرزی مند-پیشین–یکم اردیبهشت 1400 

          مراسم افتتاحیه سومین گذرگاه مرزی بین المللی پاکستان و ایران در مند-پیشین امروز با حضور وزیر محترم تولیدات دفاعی پاکستان خانم زوبیده جلال و وزیر راه و شهرسازی ایران آقای محمد اسلامی برگزار شد. مقامات هر دو طرف نیز در مراسم افتتاحیه حضور داشتند.

افتتاح نقطه مرزی جدید در حالی صورت گرفتکه شاه محمود قریشی وزیر امور خارجه پاکستان دریک سفر سه روزه به ایرانآمد.

زبیده جلال در سخنان خود در مراسم افتتاحیه ، گشودن این مرز را به عنوان نقطه عطفی مهم در روابط دو جانبه پاکستان و ایران خواند چرا که پس از گذرگاه های مرزی میرجاوه-تفتان و گبد-ریمدان ، این سومین نقطه مرزی بین المللی بین دو کشور می باشد. علاوه بر تقویت تجارت ، سفر و ارتباطات مردمی بین پاکستان و ایران ، این گذرگاه جدید با ارائه مسیری جایگزین،رفت و آمد زائرین از پاکستان را تسهیل می کند.

قبل از افتتاح مرز های مند-پیشین و گبد-ریمدان ، میرجاوه-تفتان به عنوان تنها نقطه عبور بین المللی مرزی بین پاکستان و ایران برای دهه ها باقی بود.افتتاح مرز مند-پیشین ظرف مدت پنج ماه پس از افتتاح گذرگاه مرزی گبد-ریمدان در تاریخ 29 آذر 1399 حادث گردید. دو کشور همچنین سایر نقاط عبور و مروری در مکانهای مختلف تجارت و جابجایی مرزی افراد بومیساکنصرفا در سیستم راهداری دو طرف مرز را حفظ می کنند.
