“Pakistan and Brazil should share each other’s expertise in training diplomats through cooperation between Rio Branco Institute of Brazil and the Foreign Service Academy of Pakistan”, Ambassador Jose Estanislau Do Amaral, Director General of the Rio Branco Institute remarked. During a detailed and cordial meeting between the Director General and the Ambassador of Pakistan, Mr. Najm us Saqib at the Rio Branco Institute today, it was decided to share expertise of both the countries in training each other’s diplomats at various levels.
Islamabad and Brasilia are presently working on finalization of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in promoting closer cooperation in training of diplomats, exchange of teachers, trainees, researches besides initiating joint projects in the related field. This MoU is expected to be signed by the end of 2017.
Established in 1946, the Rio Branco Institute recruits and trains the Brazilian diplomats. Presently, thirty Brazilian diplomats and four foreign diplomats are undergoing training in the Institution.
