Today the first Pakistan-Azerbaijan Digital Business Forum was held jointly by the Ministries of Commerce and Economy of the respective countries. Secretary Commerce Mr. Muhammad Sualeh Ahmed Faruqui and Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mr. Rovshan Najaf were the key-note speakers.
Presentations by the Trade & Export Promotion organizations from the two sides were made to highlight investment and business opportunities in Pakistan and Azerbaijan. More than 90 private sector companies from Pakistan and Azerbaijan also participated in the B2B session and exchanged information for networking and future coordination.
In his address, Ambassador Bilal Hayee highlighted the priority areas for expanding economic engagement between Pakistan and Azerbaijan through, inter alia, rationalizing tariff regime, enhancing integration between the financial institutions of the two countries and improving connectivity. The Ambassador also informed about the imminent establishment of Pakistan Azerbaijan Business Chamber in Baku to provide a professional platform to business communirty of the two countries for coorperation.
The Joint Digital Business Forum was the first of its series in pursuance to the decisions made in the meeting of Joint Working Group on Trade last year.
