Head of Asia & Oceania Division of the Brazilian Foreign Office (Itamaraty) H.E. Mr. Ary Quintella and Pakistan’s Ambassador in Brazil H. E. Mr. Najm us Saqib held a detailed meeting today and reviewed Pak-Brazil relations. Both Ambassadors expressed satisfaction over the steady pace of deepening relations between Pakistan and Brazil in all fields especially the recent finalization of Agreements on Technical Cooperation and Defence Cooperation.
Both sides reviewed the possibility of holding the Fifth Annual Bilateral Political Consultations by the end of 2019 and decided to work towards finalizing the dates soon. The Fourth Annual Bilateral Political Consultations were held in Islamabad in 2017. This time the Consultations will be held in Brasilia.
Sharing views on the regional situation especially the ongoing complete clampdown and curfew in the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir, the Brazilian side expressed concern over the serious restrictions imposed on the people of Occupied Jammu & Kashmir. Ambassador Najm us Saqib urged the International Community and the United Nations to take cognizance of the alarming human rights situation in the Valley while highlighting the imminent threat to peace and security in the region because of recent grave developments in the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
