Pakistan Community Delegation Meets Consul General

A representative delegation of Pakistani community from Brescia region called on Dr. Manzoor A. Chaudhry, Consul General at the Consulate on Wednesday, May 15, 2019. The delegation comprised representatives from political, religious and welfare organizations. A range of issues including welfare of the community, issues related to Pakistan and issues related to Italy came under discussion.

The delegation informed that various Pakistani organizations in and around Brescia have decided to work under the banner of umbrella organization “Supreme Council” which was created about one year ago. They stated that Supreme Council would make efforts to unite the members of the community with a view to elect leadership of the community to represent at various fora. They sought assistance and guidance from the Consulate and the Government in this regard.

The Consul General welcomed the initiative and encouraged the Supreme Council to adopt inclusive approach in future. He stressed that all segments of Pakistan community should be included in the Supreme Council. He promised to provide guidance to Supreme Council in the process.
