THE Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Brunei Darussalam inaugurated the opening of its three-day ‘Food Festival, Cultural and Tourism Week’ held at the Theatre Room of the Brunei-Muara District Office. The festival was scheduled from 9 to September 11.
Present as the guest of honour at the ceremony and later to launch the festival was the Minister of Primary Resources and Tourism, Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Haji Apong and spouse.
Also in attendance was the Acting High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam, Ahmed Ali Sirohey.
In his remark, the acting high commissioner highlighted that the objectives of the festival are to promote Pakistan’s culture and tourism and the taste of Pakistan culinary delights and cuisines.
Towards the end of the ceremony, the minister and spouse were ushered to witness mini exhibitions that showcased Pakistan products including various artifacts as well as Pakistan’s traditional costumes, games and even carpets that have been hand embroidered.
