The flag hoisting ceremony was organized in the Embassy of Pakistan, Dushanbe, on 23rd March 2024 to commemorate Pakistan Day. The ceremony was attended by Pakistani community members including students and businessmen.
The event started with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by hoisting of National Flag by Ambassador Muhammad Saeed Sarwar. Messages of the President, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister on the occasion were read out.
Ambassador Muhammad Saeed Sarwar extended felicitations to the Pakistani community members on this occasion and underlined the importance of this Day on which the Muslims of the sub-continent passed the historic Pakistan resolution. They demanded for a separate homeland where they could lead their lives in accordance with the principles of Islam.
During the event the vision and determination of our forefathers were praised for setting the course of establishment of Pakistan on 14th August 1947. A rich tribute was paid to the commitment and sacrifices made by the founder of Pakistan Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his companions who worked tirelessly towards transforming Allama Dr. Muhammad Iqbal’s dream into reality.
The path to our independence has been marked by significant achievements across various domains. Our Armed Forces, Civil Administration, Police, and Law Enforcement Agencies have, with steadfast commitment, ensured the safety, security, and sovereignty of our nation. We have proved to be resilient in the face of extraordinary circumstances and stood the test of time.
The sacrifices made by our Kashmiri brethren were also honored, both during the Pakistan Movement and in the ongoing struggle for the freedom of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). As well as a deep concern was shown for the continuous bloodshed of innocent Palestinians by the Israeli Occupation Forces.
It was highlighted that this Day gives us the opportunity to assess our successes and failures as a nation. A firm resolve should be renewed to follow the footsteps of our founding fathers to make Pakistan a beacon of peace, progress and stability. There is a need to work for Pakistan that would not be driven apart by differences but by shared values.
