Pakistan Day Celebrated in Brazil
"Pakistan is on the path of rapid development. We are successfully following our leadership's vision to have a peaceful neighbourhood for economic prosperity. The peace-loving people of Pakistan desire to live in a world where democracy, peace and prosperity prevail. Democracy is thriving in Pakistan", Ambassador Najm us Saqib remarked today during his address to a large gathering in Brasilia, Brazil on the occasion of Pakistan National Day. He stated that the Government in Islamabad was committed to effectively tackle the whole range of economic, security and energy related challenges that Pakistan was confronted with today.
The Ambassador stated that the bilateral relations between Pakistan and Brazil were being strengthened in all fields and a number of agreements were being finalized to be signed soon. "Both countries are giving special attention to increase people to people contact and bilateral trade."
Chief Guest, Ambassador Ary Quintella from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, while representing the Government of Brazil on the occasion, spoke of the friendly relations between the two countries while emphasizing the need to seize the opportunities for increased cooperation between the Pakistan and Brazil. Looking forward, Ambassador Quintella stated that 2018 would be a year of advancement on the bilateral common agenda as Pakistan and Brazil would be finalizing the Technical Cooperation Agreement. He stated that "the 70 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries are being celebrated through initiatives that promote greater mutual understanding."
Senior Officials of the Government of Brazil, Envoys based in Brasilia, Heads of Diplomatic Missions and International Organizations, Defence related high Officials from all over the world, Media Personnel, Think Tanks, Prominent Businessmen, Members of Civil Society, Academicians, Students of Brasilia University and Members of Pakistan Community were present. Brig Mohammad Yousaf, Defence Attache of the Embassy of Pakistan, Brasilia, conducted this gracefully organised event as Master of Ceremonies.
