PAKISTAN DAY CELEBRATIONS

To commemorate the Pakistan Day, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Doha, hosted a Reception in Al-Wosail Ballroom, Ritz Carlton Hotel, Doha, on 25th March, 2017. It was attended by a large number of Qatari dignitaries, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, dignitaries from press and electronic media and Pakistani notables living in the State of Qatar.

The Chief Guest of the event was Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Dr. Hassan Bin Lahdan Saqr Al-Mohannadi along with the Secretary General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Ahmad Hassan Al-Hamadi was also present. The Reception was attended by a large number from the Diplomatic Corps.

The ceremony started with playing of National Anthems of both Qatar and Pakistan. It was followed by a brief speech by HE, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Shahzad Ahmad. The Ambassador welcomed the guests and highlighted the historical significance of 23rd March. HE Ambassador of Pakistan also made mention about rich history and culture of Pakistan and in this regard he spoke about renowned historical places like Badshahi Masjid, Lahore Fort, Sheesh Mahal and archeological sites Mohenjo-daro. He also shed light that Pakistan was endowed with beautiful landscapes and picturesque sceneries which are renowned tourist destinations for foreigners. He also mentioned that Financial Times had also included Pakistan to its list of ‘where to go in 2018: an insider’s guides’. In the end Ambassador also thanked the Emir of the State of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for providing excellent atmosphere to the Diplomatic staff from Pakistan enabling them to perform their duties in dignified manners. At the end the cake cutting ceremony was also performed.

During the ceremony, guests from all walks of life interacted with each other and congratulated Officers and staff of Pakistan Embassy on the National Day. They expressed their happiness and exchanged views with the Ambassador and other Officers of the Embassy. The guests were entertained with traditional Pakistani meal.

Celebrations of Pakistan Day were held all over the world on 23rd March organized by Pakistani Embassies and Pakistan Cultural and Community Organizations. On the occasion, Pakistanis expressed their solidarity and love for their homeland.
