Defence Day celebrations were held in UAE with traditional zeal and fervor. The Embassy hosted a reception in the evening in Abu Dhabi. H.E Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister for Tolerance and H.E Muhammad Ahmad Al Bowardi, Minister of Defence of the UAE were the Guests of honor. The event was attended by a large number of Ambassadors, diplomats, Defence Attachés, officials from UAE ministries of Defence and Foreign Affairs as well as members of Armed forces and Pakistani Community in Abu Dhabi.
H.E Ambassador Moazzam Ahmad Khan in his address paid tribute to the martyrs and hailed the professionalism of the Armed forces of Pakistan. He called upon the international community to play its part in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute. The Ambassador particularly thanked the people and leadership of the UAE for always standing by Pakistan in difficult times. He termed the security of UAE as integral to the security of Pakistan and acknowledged the historic participation of the UAE’s military contingent in Pakistan’s National Day parade in March 2018 in Islamabad.
