The Embassy of Pakistan in collaboration with Polish National Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KiG) organized a webinar on “Let’s do Business Together: Opportunities and prospects of business with Pakistan” in Warsaw today. The event was attended by more than 40 Polish companies from different sectors, including textile, sports, food processing, etc. Representatives from TDAP, Board of Investment of Pakistan and Polish Ministry of Economy also participated in the event.

Ambassador Dr. Andrzej Arendarski, Advisor to the President of the Polish National Chamber of Commerce in his welcome address highlighted the potential of trade and investment between Pakistan and Poland. He identified the areas of cooperation and encouraged the Polish business entities for enhancing the trade linkages between the two countries.

Ambassador of Pakistan Malik Muhammad Farooq thanked the Polish businessmen for joining the webinar and invited Polish companies to take advantages of liberal investment regime in Pakistan. He added that there were various reasons for investment in Pakistan, including the geo-strategic location, youth bulge and availability of work force, liberal investment policy, positive economic outlook, special incentives for investment in special economic zones, etc. He further stressed that such events were important to ensure B2b and B2G contacts which could result in mutual trade benefits. The Ambassador also thanked the Polish Government for their continued support for GSP plus status to Pakistan.

Mr. Basit Rauf, Director General Trade Development Authority, shared the role of TDAP and offered all kind of support to Polish companies for their engagement with Pakistani counterparts.

Mr. Muhammad Zahid Bhatti, Trade & Investment Counsellor, highlighted investment and trade opportunities in Pakistan, which could be explored to diversify trade between the two countries.

Ambassador Poitr Opalinski of Poland underscored the importance of trade with Pakistan, particularly citing example of investment of more than US$ 250/- million by Polish Oil & Gas Company (PGNiG) in Pakistan.

In their concluding remarks, the President of Polish Chamber and Ambassador Farooq thanked the participants and ensured that such events would continue and second phase of B2B meeting would be organized in near future.
