The Government of Pakistan expresses its deep condolences on the demise of Mr. Sushil Koirala, former Prime Minister of Nepal. The Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sartaj Aziz today signed the condolence book opened at the Embassy of Nepal in memory of the late Prime Minister.

Earlier, the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan sent condolence letters to their counterparts of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.

In his letter, the President said that the sad news of the passing away of Mr. Sushil Koirala has been received with deep sorrow and grief. His role in the struggle for establishing democratic institutions and promulgation of the constitution in Nepal will always be remembered.

In his letter, the Prime Minister noted the contribution of Mr. Koirala for democracy and constitutional development and tradition in Nepal. He offered condolences to the people of Nepal and the family of Mr. Koirala.
