Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary, Jalil Abbas Jilani has written to his Indian counterpart, Sujatha Singh congratulating her on becoming India’s Foreign Secretary.
Expressing his good wishes on her new assignment, Foreign Secretary Jilani appreciated Foreign Secretary Singh’s desire to “pick up the threads” of the dialogue process from where it was left off. He felt that the exchange of goodwill messages between the leadership of the two countries needed to be carried forward and he looked forward to working closely with the Indian Foreign Secretary in addressing all issues of mutual concern. He added that Pakistan remained committed to a sustained and meaningful engagement with India that would produce mutually beneficial results.
