THE Pakistan High Commission is looking to organize more cultural events following the completion of its Culture, Tourism and Food Festival.
In his remarks at the closing ceremony, Acting High Commissioner Ahmed Ali Sirohey said they are planning to hold similar events to promote Pakistani culture as well as opportunities for tourism. The event witnessed recognition of Pakistani women who worked hard to make the event successful. Moreover, the sponsors were also given certificates. The Pakistan community association awarded shield to the Mission as an efficient and the most active Mission of their times.
He expressed his appreciation to participating vendors and members of the Pakistani community in Brunei who contributed to the success of the festival.
Medals and certificates of appreciation were presented to exhibitors and administrative members of the high commission during the ceremony.
The three-day festival was held at the Brunei-Muara District Office in Berakas. The exhibition is held annually. This year’s event featured artworks, artefacts and traditional clothing of Pakistan.
The acting high commissioner said the exhibition was aimed at helping people from Brunei and Pakistan get to know each other while also becoming more familiar with Pakistani culture.
