Pakistan High Commissioner H.E. Amir Muhammad Khan, called on Dr . Ngamije M. Daniel, Minister for Health, Republic of Rwanda, on 24 November 2021. The discussions mainly focused on ways and means on bilateral cooperation in health sector. The Minster stated that Rwanda had successfully managed the Covid-19 situation. The country was now fully open and all sectors of the economy were operating in full swing.
The High Commissionerstated that Pakistan attached great importance to its relations with Rwanda. The Government of Pakistan, under its “Engage Africa Policy,” aimed at further strengthening its relations with Africa, especially, relations in the fields of trade. He briefed the Minster on the current covid situation and the policy adopted by Pakistan to handle the pandemic. The government’s “smart/area specific lock downs” strategy, on the one hand minimized the effects of the pandemic and on the other helped in continuation of economic activities in almost all the sectors.
It was agreed upon that the two countries needed exchange of business delegations, especially from the pharma sector, so that they could explore opportunities available in the markets of the two countries.
