The Ambassador of Pakistan to Brazil Mr. Najm us Saqib hosted a luncheon at Pakistan House today, inviting Ambassadors and Heads of Missions of China, Fiji, Indonesia, Nepal, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Myanmar, India, New Zealand, Iran, Sri Lanka, Australia, Vietnam, Singapore, East Timor, Japan, South Korea, Philippines and Thailand.
The Heads of Missions expressed satisfaction over the cooperation extended to them by the Government of Brazil especially Itamaraty (Brazil’s Ministry of External Relations). The Envoys also discussed various aspects of Brazil’s relations with Asia and Oceania region and explored the possibility of deepening relations especially in different area.
The meeting reflected on a number of proposals on matters concerning protocol, immigration and labour laws with a view to facilitating Diplomatic Missions based in Brasilia in performing their responsibilities. The idea of establishing a Bureau of the Diplomatic Corps was also discussed. It was proposed that Deans of various Groups of Ambassadors would get together soon to discuss the possibility of forming the proposed Bureau, to have wider consensus on matters of mutual interest.
