The Indian Deputy High Commissioner was called in by Director General (SA & SAARC) today. A protest was lodged against the unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian forces in Rawalakot District, today. The mortar rounds fired by Indian forces hit the house of Muhammad Azam in Village Mohri. As a result of this shelling Ms. Munir Akhtar, embraced shahadat and her two daughters Ms. Nasreen and Ms. Zeenat were severely injured and remain in a critical condition. Their home was also destroyed due to the shelling.
The Deputy High Commissioner was conveyed Pakistan’s concern over the continuous unprovoked ceasefire violations by Indian security forces along the LoC and the Working Boundary. Pakistan urged India to immediately stop the violations and observe the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding.
